Hello and album news

Hello everyone,

First of all apologies for not speakin to u all for a while. I have been preparing as usual for the next album. I'm so into it that I can't think of anything else at the minute, I want to get this right for myself and everyone.

I'm training hard and believe me it's hard work when you've got an instructor, ha he's putting me through my paces, but it'll all be worth it trust me.

How's your start to the new year? I think it's goin well quick, won't be long before album is finished and I'm ready to show u.

Til then I'll keep u all up to date. U guys take care now. Arrgghh I'm really excited.

Shayne x

I knew I had my father`s love. It gave me courage to do most anything. from him I learned to stand up tall, to be proud of who I am. strength and determination were the qualities of this fine man. though He has gone in April 2 last year ,that strength kept in my mind.
The tides advance; the tides recede. winter goes and summer comes. summer wanes
and the cold increases.the sun rises; the sun sets. the moon is full; the moon is black.the birds arrive; the birds depart.flowers bloom; flowers fade.seeds are sown;harvests are reaped. today`s sadness carris the seed of tomorrow`s joy.

Pure Brightness Festival, also known as Tomb-sweeping Day or Spring Outing Day, falls on April 5.
The Pure Brightness was originally the 5th of the 24 solar terms marking the sequence of time. With the incorporation of Cold Food Festival celebration, it developed into an important festival in the course of times. Cold Food Festival was originally observed days before Pure Brightness Festival, and it was later observed together with the latter. Fire was to be banned during Cold Food Festival. this is intended, some say, to commemorate Jie Zitui, who was faithful minister of King Wengong of Jin State in the Spring and Autumn Period.
Apart from banning fire, people sweep their ancestors`s tombs, go spring outing, transplant willow cuttings, kick balls and swing during the festival.
Tomb sweeping, which is an important activity of the festival, is to offer sacrifices to ancestors at their tombs. It traces back to the Qin Dynasty. But not until the dynasties of Tang and Song did people sweep their ancestors`tombs during the days from Cold Food Festival to Pure Brightness Festival. A widely known poem on the Pure Brightness Festival written by the Tang Dynasty poet Du Mu reads:
On the day of Pure Brightness Festival it is raining hard,
On his way to the graveyard the passerby is distressed.
"Where can I have a drink?" enquired he of a cowherd,
To a tavern far amid the Apricot Blossoms who pointed.
In the Song Dynasty the festival was designated as the occasion for tomb sweeping, and the capital`s residents went to the outskirts for this purpose, which made the country as hilarious as the fairs. there are two ways of sweeping tombs: one is burning joss sticks and paper money for the dead, and the other rooting out weeds and earthing up tombs. The common people believe that graves are home of the dead and need taking good care of.
The festival comes just in spring. According to the ancient Chinese books, " pure brightness " suggests that all things on earth come back to life in the season with clear weather. This season is a good time to make an excursion because it sees all plants sprouting in bright sunshine and a vast country full of life. So people like to make spring excursions. In old days, when people went spring outing, they either wore green willow wickers on their heads or hung them on the top of their sedan chairs to ward off evil spring. In some regions, people liked to transplant willow cutings around the festival. There even went the
proverb of " He who wears no willow wickers around Pure Brightness Festival grows old fast". Today, this custom is rarely observed, yet the custom of spring outing remains. In addition, to alleviate the possible negative effect of the cold food, pople go for varieties of sports. They play soccer and tug-of-war, have a swing and fly kites. While flying a kite, one usually sets the kite free when it is high in the air in the hope that the whole family`s adversities would be gone with it.

hello Shayne
I read your blog with gratitude and love too strong for expression in any medium but music

"the tranquil sunny haze, the clinging smoke, the vapor,
shimmer of waters with fish in them, the cerulean above,
all that is jocund and sparking, the brooks running,
the maple woods, the crisp February days and the sugar-making,
the robin where he hops, bright-eyed, brown-breasted,
with musical clear call at sunrise, and again and sunset,
or flitting among the trees of the apple-orchard, building the nest of his mate,
the melted snow of March, the willow sending forth its yellow-green sprouts,
for spring-time is here!and what is this in it and from it?"

looking forward to see New Album soon
wish your album is improving day by day like the sesame flowers that bloom at joint!

Hey Shayne

It's grate to hear from you as always, I know what you mean when you say times flying by, it's march already and my exams are in may....what happened to Christmas?

I really can't wait for the new album, I'm sure all the hard work you've been putting in will all pay off, training hard? Does this mean there's another tour on the cards? Jeez I hope soo! It would be amazing if you could do some single/album signings too!

Good luck with everything Shayne I'm sure it'll all pay off.
